Ames is currently pursuing both the AstroBiology Explorer (ABE) and Astrobiology SPace InfraRed Explorer mission concepts. ABE is a potential MIDEX mission that was selected for an extended Phase A study during the last MIDEX AO (but was not selected), while ASPIRE is one of the 9 mission concepts selected for study as a potential 'Origins Probe' mission. I will briefly review where we currently stand on both of these missions, and discuss a number of possible futures for each (these futures depending less on our activities than on the timing of future AOs, future budgets, etc.)
